Tom's Story

Thomas Dewayne Hubbard was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1980. From an early age, he exhibited outstanding academic abilities in memory and problem-solving, and exceptional promise in visual art.

Hubbard attended public schools in both Tennessee and Georgia. Upon enrolling in elementary school, he was identified as a star roll student. He was soon tested by school officials, who remarked on his individuality, distinct personality, and entrepreneurial spirit, and labeled him "Gifted and Talented." By the time he was in junior high school, Thomas had already spearheaded and launched a bustling business that brought him $100.00 per week. Unfortunately for him, the sale of candy and cookies in the school hallways was forbidden, unless, of course, the school profited from the sale. When it did not, the teachers, who were alarmed at the amount of money an 11 year old was earning independently, promptly put young Hubbard out of business.

His entrepreneurial spirit followed him to high school, where he became a contributing artist for the school newspaper. He also wrote and illustrated his own comic books and short stories, and received an Honorable Mention in an L. Ron Hubbard's Illustrator of the Future contest. The summer after Thomas finished high school, a business acquaintance hosted an Art Show in his honor, in which he displayed several original paintings, sketches and art nevau pieces. The art show was a great success.  Click image (left) to view Thomas' artwork for high school newspaper

After high school, Hubbard re-located to Atlanta, Georgia and set his cap for a Media Arts degree at The Art Institute of Atlanta. Hubbard worked diligently, both in the classroom and out of it. He worked a series of jobs to put himself through college, and soon earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Arts. He would go on to enroll at Kennesaw State University, in pursuit of a Masters degree in Applied Computer Science.

Thomas has worked with several companies, including AT&T and IBM Corporation. He also launched his own company, Hubbard Digital Corporation, which specializes in visual and information technology. His goal is to continue his pursuit in Arts and Technology by pioneering skill, creativity, and technique.
